Salesians of Don Bosco

The Salesians of Don Bosco are a relatively young religious order founded by St. John Bosco in Turin Italy in 1868. Our primary focus is the education of the young through the preventive system Don Bosco imparted to us, a system based on reason, religion and loving kindness.
To do this mission, spread around the four corners of the globe, we have schools, youth clubs, retreat centres, parishes, universities and various mission fields where our many missionaries take this charism deep in the heart of these territories. There are around 17, 000 Salesians around the world, 18, 000 Salesian Sisters and lots more lay cooperators who help us in our educative mission wherever we are.
